Connect an AI assistant
Work with your ScholarQuestor projects from Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini.
What this does
Connecting lets your assistant read and update your ScholarQuestor data directly — projects, workstreams, tasks, notes, events, documents and your Zotero-linked library — instead of you copying things back and forth.
It runs on your own assistant subscription. There is no API key to buy and nothing extra to pay for on the ScholarQuestor side.
The address
Wherever your assistant asks for a custom connector URL, this is the value:
https://mcp.scholarquestor.com/mcp
Setting it up
Claude
- 1Open Claude's settings and find Connectors.
- 2Choose Add custom connector and paste the address above.
- 3Claude sends you to ScholarQuestor to sign in and approve the connection. Read that screen — it says exactly what access you are granting.
- 4Back in Claude, ask it something about your projects. It will use ScholarQuestorautomatically.
ChatGPT and Gemini
ScholarQuestor uses an open standard (MCP), so the same address works in any assistant that supports custom connectors — add it wherever that product lists them. Where custom connectors sit, and which plans include them, differs between assistants and changes often, so follow your assistant's own documentation for that step; everything on the ScholarQuestor side is identical.
Things to try once connected
- “What's overdue across my projects, and what should I deal with first?”
- “Summarize where the fellowship workstream stands, then create tasks for everything still open.”
- “Read my notes from this week and draft a research output that pulls the main threads together.”
- “Which sources in my library relate to this note? Link the relevant ones.”
- “Plan next week: show me what's due and move anything unrealistic.”
What it can access
A connection covers every project you are a member of, with permission to create, edit and delete. It cannot reach projects you are not a member of, and it cannot reach other people's accounts — the assistant acts as you, with exactly your permissions and nothing more.
Two things stay out of reach entirely: your integration credentials (the Google Calendar connection, your AI provider key) are never exposed to an assistant, and the Zotero library credential can only be used by the project's owner.
Your responsibility
You decide what to connect and what to share. ScholarQuestor and Dontscroll Agency are not responsible for how a connected AI provider handles data you send it — that is governed by that provider's own privacy policy and terms, which are worth reading before you connect.
Our own handling is described in the privacy policy.
Disconnecting
Open Account settings → AI configuration in ScholarQuestor. Every connected assistant is listed there with a Disconnect button, which revokes its access immediately — it cannot read or change anything afterwards unless you approve it again.
